Fundraisers surround the lives of people who are always working to go to conferences and give back to the community. This is not a lesson that I learned tonight, but it something that I learned a long time ago and continually see throughout my life. It’s called giving back and giving a little more than you should. In my fundraising days I would ask for dollar donations and there would be people that gave twenties and fifties. Those were the people that I was always more appreciative towards and when I dealt with them I knew I always wanted to be like them. It doesn’t have to be much and tonight I felt like the extra dollars I gave just made my heart a little warmer and I know that it will help someone else. So next time someone asks for some money, give a little more than its worth.
